Riot Games is expanding its catalog of game and, ten years after the release of ‘League of Legends’, finally it is beginning to look at the mobile market. After launching ‘Tactical Master’ some weeks ago, Riot has just published ‘Legends of Runeterra‘your new title for smartphones. It is a game of cards and strategy based on the universe of ‘LoL’, which, like all games of the signature, can be downloaded completely free of charge.

‘Legends of Runeterra’ is the second of the three games that Riot Games has in store for mobile. The first was ‘TFT’ and the third one will be ‘League of Legends: Wild Rift‘, an adaptation of his well-known MOBA for the PC. Be that as it may, the us today is ‘Legends of Runeterra’, also known as ‘LoR’so let’s get to know him better.

The basics of ‘Legends of Runeterra’

‘LoR’ is based in the universe of ‘League of Legends’so there will be many, many well-known characters of the game, just as in the ‘Heartstone‘Blizzard and the world of ‘Warcraft’. The games are one-on-one and each player starts with four cards randomly selected from your deck, 20 life points and no mana.

When the game begins, players can choose to change any of the letters that have been received by the other of the deck. Finished this “prefase”, each player receives one point of mana and you decide who attacks and who defends. To do this you can use letters of champions, followers, or spells, each one with its respective mana cost. The role of an attacker and a defender rotates with each round and, of course, lose that before you run out of life points.

Letters Each letter belongs to a region (Demacia, Ionia, Island of the Shadow…) and it is played differently.

This is the basics of the game, but the key is to build our own deck and find the better synergies and combos between the cards. Speaking of the cards, these are unlocked as you progress in the game, although you can always buy the in-game store with coins (which, in turn, can be purchased with real money). You can’t buy lootboxesbut yes there are microtransactions for up to 54,99 euros.

For the players, highlighted that ‘Legends of Runeterra’ comes with the new set of letters, “high Tide”, which includes 120 new cards, six new key words and 11 champions additional to add to the deck. The game is now available for download in Google Play and App Store and the minimum requirements are fairly affordable: Android 5.0 Lollipop or iOS 9.0 or higher, so it comes to almost any smartphone.
