News about Halo Infinite has been in short supply since Microsoft and 343 Industries announced the game’s postponement to 2021. In view of what is arguably the biggest video game event of the year remaining, The Game Awards, some fans have started to theorize that Infinite could possibly reappear on the occasion of the show. Well, apparently it won’t.

In a thread on Reddit, 343 community director Brian Jarrard confirmed that the studio has no plans to show Halo Infinite during TGA 2020. That said, it looks like the silence around the project won’t last long.

” We haven’t planned anything for the TGAs, but we hope to deliver at least one major update within the next few weeks so that we can start this journey together again after the holidays, ” said Jarrard. ” Putting together something like a demo for TGAs is a huge amount of work. I know it’s hard to wait, but the team will make the most of this extra time and we want to make sure we can do their best for more transparency and dialogue on the road. to go “.

It looks like 343 won’t be showing the game again until it has something more to present. However, fans are curious to find out about the important update mentioned by Jarrard. At this point, any new trailer or gameplay video seems out of the question, but the studio will likely provide some general guidance on what it plans to do to launch the game next year.

For now, all we really know about Halo Infinite is that it’s slated for next year on Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and PC. As for The Game Awards, this year’s event is scheduled for December 10th.
