In this last period, Activision wanted to please Call of Duty fans, more precisely those of the Modern Warfare vein, with a series of “surprises”: first with a complete remake, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, published as the main COD of 2019 and, later, releasing singleplayer campaign remasters from the original games.

After remastering Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 , it would be a shame to leave the third chapter aside, wouldn’t it? And in fact, according to a recent rumor, it seems that Activision is working on the remastered of the Modern Warfare 3 campaign.

The source of the rumor is the Twitter account ModernWarzone, dedicated for some time to the leaks of the series and particularly reliable on these topics. The account claims that the Modern Warfare 3 remastered is currently in development, exactly as some rumors from last April already claimed.

Both old and current rumors ignore the release date and do not specify if the remastered will be a PS4 time exclusive, as has happened in the past. Both, however, agree that the remaster will only include the main campaign and that actually makes sense.

Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was sold without the multiplayer, and although no official reasons have been disclosed, logic suggests that Activision did not want to split the fanbase, removing players from the multiplayer of the main COD. In this case, the presence of multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3 Remastered could take players away from Black Ops Cold War.

In any case, we are always talking about a rumor, so we invite you to take it with a grain of salt. If Activision really has this remastered in the pipeline, the first information will surely arrive in the coming months. What do you think about it? Would you welcome the return of Modern Warfare 3 with open arms?
