Every year, when a new Call of Duty launches, the game always reaches the top of the UK sales charts, but this year things turned out differently. As revealed by Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry on Twitter, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was actually beaten in the UK by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla , which took the top spot among the best sellers.
As Dring points out, this is probably more due to the fact that Assassin’s Creed sold very well and therefore would not be a poor call of Duty sales. It’s also worth mentioning that these rankings only take physical sales into account, and Black Ops Cold War may very well have outperformed all other games by counting digital versions.
Dring also claims that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was the third best-selling game of the week, which is curious, since PS5 hasn’t yet released in the UK and won’t be available until November 19.
For the first time in about 80 years, Call of Duty is not No.1 in the UK physical charts during the week it came out… in a major week for game sales, Assassin’s Creed is the biggest boxed game

Did Modern Warfare's live service model with continuous updates up until now has hurted the yearly CoD model, you think?

Has to be DS, because Miles is on PS4 and that console is out already. Or maybe I'm overthinking this.
