With the new video game of third-person shooting, free and which is available from this Wednesday, Amazon aims to compete with title rivals as Fortnite, Overwatch and League of Legends.
This is the first major title from Amazon Game Studios, which is also working on a multiplayer online game based on “The lord of the rings”.
Crucible was announced for the first time in 2016 as part of the strategy of Amazon in the gaming sector, which also includes the streaming platform Twitch.
The developers describe the Crucible as a “action game in a team based on the decisions you make”and in that “you and your teammates will need to work together to defeat alien creatures, attain goals and pursue your opponents in search of victory”.
The launch occurs when the video games are experiencing a boom in growing due to the confinement of a large part of the population of the world by the pandemic of the new coronavirus, and while other tech giants make moves with a view to capture some of that juicy market.
Google recently launched its streaming service games Stay, and Apple Arcade offers titles for iOS devices. Facebookfor its part , introduced last month a stand-alone application that allows users to create and watch live broadcasts of video games.
